About Grow Room & Greenhouse Heaters

Cold nights and lights-off periods can drop temperatures fast, especially in garages, lofts and outbuildings in winter. A heater keeps your grow space or greenhouse stable so plants keep growing instead of stalling. We stock electric fan heaters, oil-filled radiators and a thermostat controller to automate them.

How to choose a grow room heater

Fan heater or oil-filled radiator? Fan heaters warm a space quickly and move air while they do it. The Grow Gadgets 2kW Greenhouse Heater has adjustable heat settings and a built-in thermostat. The 3kW version offers fan-only, half-power and full-heat modes for medium to larger spaces. Oil-filled radiators give gentle, silent convection heat with no fan and do not dry the air out. The 1000W oil-filled radiator suits small to medium tents and rooms, and the 2000W model gives more output for bigger spaces.

Size it to the space. As a general rule of thumb, a 1kW radiator is usually enough for a single tent in an insulated room. Unheated garages, outbuildings and greenhouses often need 2kW or more. If you are unsure, start smaller and add a thermostat. It is easier to control a modest heater than an oversized one.

Control it. The Grow Gadgets Thermostat Controller (£24.99) switches heaters, fans or heat mats on and off automatically. It covers -9°C to 50°C, handles loads up to 6,000W and has a detachable probe you can place at plant height.

Always keep heaters clear of tent walls, ducting and water, and follow the manufacturer's safety instructions.

Heater FAQs

When do I need a heater in a grow tent?

Usually during lights-off in colder months, when the heat from the light is gone. A hygrometer with a probe shows you how far the temperature drops overnight.

Can I use these in a greenhouse?

Yes. The 2kW and 3kW fan heaters are designed for greenhouses, sheds and grow rooms.

Do I need a thermostat if the heater has one?

A separate controller with a probe reads the temperature where your plants are, not at the heater, which gives steadier results.
