Coco Professional Plus is a 100% natural, buffered coco coir growing medium made from carefully selected coconut husk fibres. It undergoes a thorough washing and buffering process to remove excess salts and eliminate nutrient-stealing tendencies common in raw coco, creating a stable and plant-friendly environment straight from the bag. R.H.P. certification guarantees purity, consistency and freedom from weeds or soil-borne diseases.
Specially formulated for modern grow systems, this substrate offers a balanced blend of water retention and aeration that supports strong root systems, excellent nutrient uptake and improved plant vigour, making it perfect for soil, coco, hydroponic or mixed media grows.
Key Features & Benefits
- Pre-washed & Fully Buffered: Eliminates harmful salts and prevents coco from absorbing key nutrients, ready to use straight from the bag.
- Optimal Water/Air Balance: High water retention and superior aeration (approx. 73% water / 23% air) create ideal conditions for rapid root growth and oxygen access.
- Free from Diseases & Pathogens: Made without contact with outdoor soil, so it’s free of harmful viruses, weeds and soil diseases.
- Beneficial Microbe Support: Contains Trichoderma, a helpful fungus that can protect roots against pathogens and support plant health.
- Reusable & Sustainable: With proper flushing between growth cycles, the coir can be reused or repurposed as a soil improver.
- Versatile Growing Medium: Works in pots, containers, beds and various irrigation systems like drip, run-to-waste or hydroponics.
- Consistent Quality: Designed to provide even texture, uniform performance and predictable crop results batch after batch.
How to Use
- Prepare the Coco: Open the bag and gently loosen the substrate to break up any compacted areas.
- Fill Containers: Place the coco in pots or trays. Use containers of at least 5 L for stable root environments.
- Moisten: Pre-moisten the medium with clean water or a light nutrient solution suitable for coco.
- Planting: Insert seedlings, clones or young plants directly.
- Feed Consistently: Use a coco-specific nutrient programme (like Coco A & B) and maintain pH around 5.5 to 6.2 for optimal uptake.
- Maintenance: Keep the substrate moist but not waterlogged, excellent drainage and oxygenation help prevent root rot.
